Orville Clarence Redenbacher died on this day in 1997. Thanks to the miracle of modern science, his re-animated corpse (or is that a digital re-creation?) continues to shill the popcorn bearing his name.

I find the digital recreation of Orville ( who was a tad spooky when there was still blood coursing through his veins ...) more than disturbing. I think there will come a day when Frank Perdue is hovering over a chicken farm digitally exhorting us to buy more carcasses from beyond the grave. Maybe even Bob Hope singing " We're the dead men from Texaco, We haunt from Maine to Mexico ...". Nope, this is a purely bad trend. Lets turn down the lights on this trend but first a word from Paige !
