I think they were from the 80's, but this reminded me of some other (really bad) ones-- 'Gilligan's Planet', where the Professor can't fix the hole in the boat so he built a spaceship, and the 'Happy Days' cartoon, where Fonzie and the gang travel through time and space on a giant jukebox...
ReplyDeleteWhat's the deal with that - he can't make adhesive to glue some boards on the Minnow, but he can build an interplanetary spaceship? Why didn't he just fly them to the mainland? I stopped watching Saturday morning cartoons by this point (which is why I limited my blog to 70's cartoons) but I see that in addition to Happy Days, there was also a Laverne and Shirley cartoon - I bet that one was a winner too. (Not that most of the shows from the 70's were any good either).
ReplyDeleteI can't say for sure, but Gilligan probably messed something up and made the rocket go off course and strand them on an isolated planet...
ReplyDeleteI always wondered why the rest of the castaways never killed Gilligan considering all the times he screwed up a rescue attempt.
